states: —“The auxiliary schooner "■ Kereru arrived from Gisborne and East Coast bays late last night. The vessel was detained for a. week at Gisborne on account of stormy eather, and sailed on May 21. She was then detained for several days on account of the weather, and then left for Cape ltunaway, in the Bay of Plenty, the wind having dropped to a calm. After loading at Cape runaway the Kereru came on to Auckland, meeting with dead calms on the passage, the greater portion of the journey being accomplished with the aid of the engines. Cargo from coast ports: 100 bales' flax, 25 bales tow, 677 sacks maize, and sundries. The s:S. Ituru arrived from Napier early on Saturday with transhipments et Toroa and returned in the afternoon.
The s.s. Putiki returned to Wanganui on Satrday eveninug. The U.S.S. Co.’s Haupiri left Tokomaru early yesterday morning, discharged 10,000 ft. timber at Tolaga, and came on to Gisborne, arriving at 3.30 p.m. The vessel left at G p.m. for Napier, Wellington and Picton. The auxiliary schooner Waiapu left for Auckland on Saturday, for annual inspection, after which she proceeds to Whangaioa. to load timber for Mabia and DeLautour and DeLautour, Gisborne.
