SHIPPING.
An Auckland telegram states : On her passage from Auckland to the Islands, tho s.s. Manapouri encountered a heavy gale. A boat was stove-in and tho companion-ladder carried away. A portion of her deck railing was twisted. .Three cattlo U.S.S. Co.’s Waikaro arrives from South this morning, and proceeds to Auckland. Passengers: Outward: Misses Busby (3), Hamcrton, Dunlop, Newman, Mrs. llard-wick-Smith, Messrs. H. 13. Mil iams, Isaacs 15. Adair, Newman, A' oodroflo. Tho s.s. Fanny arrived yesterday morniug from Napier, via coast, and returned at 4 p.m. with a general cargo for TV aikokopu. Tho arrives this morning with 60 tons produce ex Toroa, and returns at noon. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tallin© leaves Auckland at 6 o’clock to-night, arrives on Sunday evening, and pro- * coeds south. The last launch leaves at 7 p.m. The s.s. Putiki arrived at 11.30 yesterday morning from Westport with 315 tons coal, of which 98 tons is for the Railway Department, and the remainder' for tho Westport Coal Co. Tho steamer leaves this afternoon for Wanganui. . . The U.S.S. Co.’s Haupin worked Tuparoa and Waipiro yesterday, and works Tokomaru and Tolaga to-day, and comes on to Gisborne. The vessel then leaves for Napier, discharges cargo at Shoal Bay, and proceeds to .Wellington and Picton. The N.Z. Shipping Co.’s R.M.S. Ruapehu loft Lyttelton last night for London, via Monte Video and Teneriff©. Tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. s s.s. Mamari is due on Wednesday to load from the Sheep Farmers’ Freezing Co.
