MAORI LAND BOARD
The Tai-Rawliito District Maori Land Board sat yesterday morning. Present: Colonol Porter, C.B. (President), Mr. A. Koot'er and Oteno Pitau, assessor.
It was decided to deal with unop-
posed applications first, ns far as possible, and to have an interpreter in attendance when the opposed cases
came on
Mr. Siovwright appeared in the case of John M. Robortson, application for consent to lenso in Toliaka, No. 5, and P. G. H. and L. blocks,
and Thomas McGregor, Toliaka, Nos. 2, 4 and 5 (part) block, the lessors being Mahaki and Rawhito Paraone. The papers were stated to bo in order, with tho exception of valuation requirements on which application will bo mado to the ValuorGoneral’s Department. An adjournment to Thursday was granted.
Mr. F. W. Nolan secured an adjournment. to tho 6th inst. in connection with a number of cases. Mr. Arthur Coleman had tho following oases adjourned till this afternoon :—Etlio Jean Glassford, Whakaongaonga No. 2g, and Mangapoike 2a No. I, and Homi Kaia and Hipeno Kain, Puninga, No. 5. Puninga No. 1 application was fixed for hearing on MTmday next, tho application on which Mr. Hoi appeared woro sot down for Friday. The aplication of Dora Spence (Mr. Bright for the applicant) for concont to lease in Mangatokerau la, No. 2, and Hector B. McAra and R. B. Burgess, Aliirau No. lc, was adjourned to Wednesday.
Approval was given of a lease of 12 acres 3 roods 18 perchos in the Toi-o-to-Kianga block, from Maraia Paka and others to Charles Ernest Gibson, for a term of 21 years, rental £1 10s per acre. Mr. Sainsbury for tho applicant.
The Board resumes at 10.30 this morning.
