COSMOPOLITAN CLUB

The following are the tenders received for building the Cosmopolitan Club:—Quinn and Boßfnd, £2850; John Somerville, £2960; Connon, £3OSS; Black Bros, (accepted), £2777 17s; Mackrell and Colley, £2799; Webb and Son, £3252. The building will ho situated at the corner of Bright-street and Pal-merstou-road, and will be of brick,

witli very neatly-designed elevations. First-class material and workmanship is to he used on the interior finishings, and the members of the club are to be congratulated on their enterprise. The building is to be a two-storied one, and the ground floor will contain the following:;—Lounge hall with a lavatory leading from it, and billiard room to contain two tables, card-room, secretary’s room, visitors’ room, and storeroom. Upstairs there will be a spacious landing, social hall, committee room, writing room, reading room,' card room, with a balcony- leading from the card room.

The plans of the building, which, are the work of Mr. H. J. Brownlee, architect, reflect great credit on that gentleman, # Tho work of erection will he proceeded with at once, and the members of the" club will soon.be in possession of comfortable and spacious apartments.
