A large number of players turned out last Satudray, and several matches in the first round of the President’s trophy wore played off. As the first round has to bo completed before June Bth those intending to play should endeavor to arrange to get their games off by that date. Tho following are tlie results of the games played : “A” Tournament. —R. Barker (10) beat W. N. Barron (13), 3 up; J. S. Barton (8) heat Dr. Buckeridge (10), 1 up! E. Willock (14) beat H. Kenway (12), 6 up. “B” Tournament.—G. McLean (8) heat E. H. Mann (2), 3 up; V. Barker (18) beat T. Coleman (4), 4 up; W. Coleman (14) beat R. Crawford (16), 3 up; W. J. Gibson (18) beatC. Sainsbury (2), 4 up. As there is no fixture for next Saturday the opportunity will doubtless be taken by competitors to complete their games.
