OUTWARD ENGLISH MAILS.
A DELAY OF SIX DAYS,
Mr. Chas. Gowland writes under yesterday’s date: You will be doing the town a good service if you endeavor to carry out the undernoted suggestion of mine, which I really consider a very important one to the business community generally. The s.s. Waikare, which left here yesterday for Napier had on board English mails, which in-tho ordinary course would be transhipped to the Warrimoo at Wellington, sailing at i p.iri. to-day. The mail train leaves Napior this morning, and will not consequently arrivo until 7 p.m. to-night, and if tho Warrimoo has sailed s to time that means a loss of six days in arriving in London, What I want to suggest to you is to wire Dr. Findlay, Acting-Post-master-Goneral, to detain if possible the Sydney boat, i.c. the Warrimoo, until after the Napior mail train arrives.
