SERIOUS RISING AT AVONGKONG

Bandits destroyed a Gorman mission at Honolulu. Tho local authorities saved the missionaries. German and British gunboats are proceeding to Pakhoi.
A serious rising has occurred at Wongkong, 45 miles south-east of Canton. Many Chinese officials wero killed, but Europeans wero unharmed. Chinese troojis have been sent.
Tho rising at AVongkong is attributed to taxation. Tlioro are 30,000 rebels in tho vicinity of Swatow.
