The ftisbonie correspondent of the Auckland Herald states:
Writing to a friend in . Gisborne, Captain Popharn, late of tile bit tv quentine lima, states wfith reference tq that vessel recently signalling that she was short of provisions, that she was only short of flour. They lin'd a cook on board who could nnt make decent bread. As fast as it was made it was thrown overboard. The result was that, when 16 c*fiys out, and 530 miles from Sydney, the flour was nearly gone, and they only had enough hard bread to last four days. Captain Pophain states that he was compelled to stop a passing sljip, f as his crow refused, to go. on short commons for the rest of the trip.
The captain adds that the Ibna had to contend with fearful weather. For tl.ro last half- of the passage westerly gales prevailed.
