“THE MAN WHO ROSE AGAIN."

TURKISH LUNATIC’S FREAK

The Constantinople newspapers report an incident which, although of doubtful authenticity, deserves to be rescued from tho obscurity which attends most productions of the Turkish Press. A local hospital has an annexe for lunatics, where the milder patients are frequently employed for ordinary menial duties. One of those recently found his way into tlio mortuary of the establishment and seeing a corpse laid out awaiting burial, hid flic body in a convenient press, and stretched himself in its place in the most realistic manner, and awaited doi elopments. Shortly afterwards a priest entered, with the pious purpose of praying by tho deceased, but his devotions were interrupted by a fearful yell from the supposed corpse, which raised itself and leaped right over the astonished priest. The reverend father collapsed, and was found some hours later lying unconscious by the settle from which the body was missing. Its discovery in tile cupboard nearly caused, another panic, but finally cleared up the mystery.
