The heavy rain which has fallen during tho past 24 hours will make the going on the Caledonian grounds heavy for the Day-McLachlan match to-morrow.
The Otago Farmers’ Co-operative Associantion declares a dividend of 6 per cent, and a bonus of 1\ per cent, on capital; a bonus on goods purchased of 4 per cent., bonus to staff of 2] per cent., besides £IOOO added to the reserve fund. The report says it is gratifying to observe many convincing evidences that farmers’ co-opera-tion is growing into substantial importance throughout Otago.
CHRISTCHURCH, yesterday. Two young men, Harry AA’alter Lilley and Thomas Moody, were charged this morning at the Magistrate's Court on five informations of burglary and were remanded to May 29. As far as can be ascertained fourteen houses in all- parts of the city recoived their attentions. Hie greater part of tho spoil was dug up in a garden at Lillev’s place, and the estimated value of the articles recovered is £BO to £9O. Detectives R. Ward and Gibson made the arrest, tho former applying tho finger print system with promptness and effectiveness. Ono manvsaid that he committed tho burglary because ho could get no work.
