LABOR IN AUSTRALIA
MR. DEAKIN’S REMARKS.
Press Association —Copyright. MELBOURNE, May 23.
A strong feeling continues in Labor circles regarding Mr. Deakin’s recent utterances in England. Mr. Prendergast declared that Mr. Deakm had been particularly ungrateful, like a dog that turns and bites the hand that feeds it. He was put in power and kept in power by the Labor party. There is no hope of liis re-, maining in power "without its support. He will have a sudden awakening. One of these days he will disappear before a party pledged to a solid platform which it will carry out in its entirety.
