MELBOURNE, May 22,

Two miners named Thompson and Robinson were working in a shaft in the Adelaide reef. The driver, failing to receive the signal to hoist' tho cage, examined it and found tho cage stuck and 150 ft of water in tho shaft. It is believed that the shaft sunk close to an old drive from which an inrush of water drowned the two men before the time to give tho signal.
