EMPLOYERS’ FEDERATION

A NON-POLITICAL BODY, Press Association.

AUCKLAND, yesterday

A meeting of employers, tho largest over held in Auckland, took place last evening. Mr. Pryor, organising secretary of the Now Zealand Employers’ Federation, delivered an address on the work of the Federation. He said tho Federation had no politics. 'lt was formed to look after the interests of,employers of labor in tho colony in connection with labor legislation, the administration of labor laws, and matters generally appertaining to trades and industries. The Now Zealand Federation was not in any way opposed to labor legislation or trades unions, but was opposed to the abuse of these things. The ideal of tho Federation was ail industrial union of employers for every industrial union of workers, a district employers’ association for I every district trades council, and a ! complete colonial combination of j employers to meet the colonial j combination of workers. The work of the Federation consisted of watching over the interests of employers in several districts by means of various associations and tho colonial interests of trades and industries of the colony through tho Advisory Board and Parliamentary Committee. He appealed to employers to support the organisation, which looked after their own interests.
