LOVER SHOT DEAD
San Francisco, April 27.—A sensational murder was committed last night at the town of Goldfield, Ncda, by a miner . named Hinds, who had just returned from Alaska, Hinds entered a saloon in the town where he found his wife, who had run away from Alaska with a Russian, and with whom she was sitting at a table
dining. Hinds drew a revolver and shot the Russian dead, amid the excitement 'of the crowd in the saloon. Several men rushed to seize Hinds, when he sprang upon a table, and, flourishing his revolver said: -'“Friends I want to tell you something. That man that I have killed ram away with my .wife, and I have come all the way from Alaska to kill him. He seduced her, and now I have had my vengeance. 1 will take whatever medicine is waiting for me. ! ’>
Having said this, Hinds -stepped down from the table and -calmly surrendered. His wife, who was in terror of being killed by her husband, hurriedly left the saloon before Hinds was taken to the town gaol. It seems that Hinds and the Russian, >vko is said to havp been a man
of title, woro partners in Alaska and staked out a claim together. For a long time the claim did not ‘ pan out,” and the Russian and Airs. Hinds, who is a very handsome woman, getting tired of tlio life, eloped. Hinds made, no sign and stayed working tlio mine, striking a rich load shortly after tlio disappearance of the couple.
