ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Press Association. , AUCKLAND, last night. • "AT'snd accident occurred on Thursday morning at Mnnukau. Arthur Burke, a bushman, working for tho Mountain ltimu Company, was struck on tho head by tho falling limb of fi treo, causing a fractured jaw. Death, caused by hemorrhage, occurred four hours later .
As Mrs. Kenwood, in company with her nephew, Mr. Schwartz, was waiting in a buggy outside Messrs: Andrew and Lloyd’s store at Otaluilui yesterday, tho horso took fright at a passing motor car, and bolted down Faiflmirn-street. Tho two occupants hold on to tlio roins. When turning tho corner tho burrow capsized, throwing them out. Mrs. Henwood was severely-shaken, and received cuts about her face, and was taken into a neighbor’s house and attended by ,Dr. Bows. She was unable to proceed to her homo last night. Air. Schwartz escaped with a shaking. Tho buggy was smashed, but the horse was not hurt! much.
