Press Association. WELLINGTON, yesterday. Alex. Briekley, who was injured while shipping mail hampers aboard the Mararoa on Monday evening, died yesterday afternoon. Professor Easterfield, of Victoria College, gave evidence that In his opinion the explosion which took place in the well was due to benzine, some of which was in an open tin. The bottom of'this tin has been blown off. The jury found that the boy’s death was accidental.
