Press Association. WELLINGTON, yesterday. Alex. Briekley, who was injured while shipping mail hampers aboard the Mararoa on Monday evening, died yesterday afternoon. An inquiry concerning the death of a man who expired suddenly in a timber yard, the jury found that death was duo to Jiparfc disease. They expressed the opinion that deceased’s name was rightly Albert Hellier, and that he had been imperfectly identified as a man who at times was known ns William Keenan. An inquest was continued yesterday touching the death of the lad Trevor Small, the victim of an explosion at the Gas Company’s works on Saturday last. Professor Easterfield, of Victoria College, gave evidence that In his opinion the explosion which took place in the well was due to benzine, some of which was in an open tin. The bottom of'this tin has been blown off. The jury found that the boy’s death was accidental. They considered that the lamp used was not safe, and that greater care should have been used to prevent access to inflammable oils. T A UP. ANG A, yesterday. John Maxwell Young, a man belonging to Opotiki, died suddenly aboard tlio steamer Waiotahi while entering the harbor last night, it is supposed from infusion of blood on the brain.
