Mr. Churchill, in reply to a question regarding the recruiting of laborers under the New Hebrides convention, said the Government were considering whether licenses issued to British vessels should not prohibit the recruiting of females for service outside the groups. A Bill bringing all laundries under the Factory Workshops Act was read a second time in the House of Lord!;.
The vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. Hambro, for Mimbledon, has been filled by the election of Mr. Henry Chaplin 10,263, Russell (Liberal and a woman’s suffragist) 3299.
