The township would be saturated with refuse with serious results. The circumstances of Gisborlie were peculiarly diilicult; there were four parts of the Borough separated by water. Wherever the watermains must go the sewers must go. Mr. Hay said in his report that Mr. Mestayer’s scheme should be adopted. The matter should not lie allowed to rest until an up-to-date scheme of sewerage was secured. ~ Cr. Sheridan said that Mr. Mcs tayer stated that an extra £IO,OOO would be required for the extension. He thought Mr. Mestayer should be asked for an additional report. lie would then second Cr. llliams motlOor. Wliinray said that the interests of the whole Borough should be considered. Some of the ratepayers objected to be saddled with a general scheme. Further consideration was needed before getting a report. While recognising its importance, it should be deferred. ~ r', , - Cr.
