THE LAND BILL.
Press Association INVERCARGILL, ypsterday. The Hon. Mr. Fowlds was present at a banquet given last night by Mr. Hanan, M.H.R., to the members of his Election Committee. Presentations were made to Mr. ITanan and liis wife. Mr. Fowlds said the party opposing the Land Bill represented the party of privilege, and those supporting it the party of the people. He had no doubt 1 that the party of the people wouhll be victorious on the land question. The option of purchase would be given over large areas of Native land acquired after the Bill passed.
