SHIPPING.

The scow Welcome arrived at noon yesterday from the Bay of Islands, with sG,oooft timber for Messrs. H. J. Peacock*' ami Co. The U.S.S. Company’s Kaiapoi was discharging at Wellington yesterday. The vessel proceeds to Ivaipara to load timber for Australia. The S.S. Kahu left Napier at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon for Gisborne with timber and general cargo. The s.s. Kura arrived at 4 a.m. yesterday from Napier with HU tons coal for the Gisborne Sheep I’ arniers Company, ex Kaiapoi. The steanter returns at 11 o’clock to-day with 4 bales of wool.

The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.’s S.s. Corinthic is expected to complete loading to-night, and leave for Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The vessel is booked to leave Wellington finally on the 23rd inst. The auxiliary schooner Waiapu returned yesterday from To Araroa with 30,000 ft of timber. The vessel was delayed by heavy weather. The U.S.S. Co.’s Squall arrived from Napier yesterday morning with about 30 tons cargo, and leaves early this morning for Auckland, via Tolaga.

The scow Alert returned from Iviripaka at noon yesterday with 130 tons of coal for Robb Bros, The vessel, which left Gisborne on Friday afternoon, 26th April, encountered heavy easterly weather, and put into Whangarei on Monday, 29th, for shelter. She left there the following Wednesday, and was towed tip the river on Thursday. Loading operations were commenced on Friday, and at 3 p.m. on Saturday, 4tli inst., the vessel left for Gisborne. E.S.E. winds were encountered most of the way, and East Cape was passed on Wednesday-, the wind then being westerly. The Alert is expected to return to Kiripaka to-morrow.

The U.S.S. Co.’s Miowera arrives from South to-morrow morning, and leaves for Auckland and Sydney. The U.S.S. Company’s Tarawera returns from Auckland on Sunday afternoon, and proceeds south. The barquentine Frank Guy arrived on W’ednesday at Newcastle from Gisborne.
