LONDON MARKETS. Press Association.—Copyright. „ LONDON, May 5. Copper, spot, 106; three months, 104;. Tin, spot, 192;- three months, 1891. Lead, 19 7-16. Silver, 30 J. Hemp is firm. Linseed oil, 2-51-Wheat: A cargo of Australian sold at 31s 6d. Wool: To date 53,964 bales have been catalogued and 46.836 sold. Competition is good. Prices for all sorts are fully maintained. The following were the average prices realised for the fleece portions of the following clips: Gear 10gd, Titi and Manawa llgd, Puketoi 123 d. Sheep are unchanged. Lambs Canterbury, light sfd ; Southland, old, North Island, sd; others unchanged. New Zealand beef is unchanged. River Plate sheep are unchanged. Beef, fores 3d, hinds unchanged. Tlie firmness of the wheat markets is due chiefly to the smallness of the reserve stocks in Great Britain and most European* importing countries. There has been a slight relapse in cargoes during the last few days. Cargoes have sold at 31s 4ld to 31s 9d Flour has hardened from 3d to 6d.
The butter market is unchanged. There is, a slightly better demand for the choicest colonial, but secondaries are neglected. Cheese is easier. N T ew Zealand, Gls to G2s.
Tlie Bradford wool market is quiet. Merinos are -firm. Common sixties, 2Gd ; sui>er, 27d.
Hides: At the periodical sales the offerings wore small. The demand was poor. Nominal prices are: Queensland ox 6 5-Bd, cow 6 3-8 d ; Sydney' ox GJd, cow 52d. Leather is unchanged. Basils have declined one halfpenny. First Wellingtons arc at 17d.

The London Bank of Australia realised a profit during the past yearof £99,659. A dividend of 5 4 on preference and 24 per centum on' ordinary shares .lias been declared, £IO,OOO placed on reserve, pud £23,907 carried forward. The transferable deposits amounted to £942,227, other deposits £3,291,000, cash and investments £1,576,000, bills advances, stc., £3.757,000.
