Tlie appearance in Gisborne oJ Madame Blanche Arml, the i'aniom I 1 ’reach prima donna, whoso New Zealand success lias been (juito unusual, announced for Wednesday evening next, is already creating much interest. The beauty of her voice, and her delightful personality are likely to attract large audiences, hi France, and especially in Baris, Madame Arm! is well known, and at the Opera Combine she has created many great roles in famous operas of the past few years. Her repertoire is prodigious, and embraces at least sixty operas, pot counting individual numbers, many’of which were special-ly-composed for her. The season in Gisborne will include two concerts, and at the opening recital, scenes from “Mignon,” “Faust,” “Huguenots” and “Gala tee." with appropriate stage settings and costumes, will be given. The sensation this brilliant artiste has caused in Australia and New Zealand centres has no parallel in the musical history of the Southern Hemisphere, for no visiting artiste has received more praise or been awarded greater ovations. Her visit to Gisborne will he welcomed by all music lovers, and the general public of the district. The box plan will he opened this morning.
