THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.
To the Editor of the Gisborne Times. Sir,—Do you not think it would he a great convenience to the general public, and especially to visitors to the town, if the Public Reading Room were kept open during the morning. I do, and cannot understand why it should be otherwise. T have nere. before seen a Public Reading Room observe such hours; it seems absuid to my mind. Trusting the committee may be prevailed upon to make an alteration. —Yours, etc., RECENT ARRIVAL. [We have previously pointed out that this question is purely one of Expense, and that there is no extra revenue available to enable the committee to satjsf.y our correspondent s desire, or it would he done.
