PREFERENTIAL TRADE.
LONDON, April 30.
Tho Times, in a special article on the Imperial Conference and unity, emphasising that Britain has already a tariff, declares it is tho minimum that may be demanded. Tho Government has declared tho right of India and other Imperial dependencies to embody preference in their tariffs, and secondly there is an undertaking by the Motherland to give preference on existing duties. The Government should recognise and reconsider carefully such oxten- j siott of revenue duties as would on- 1 nblo every part of tho Empire to benefit by the preference given.
