BESSES O’ TH’ BARN BAND.

The box plans for tho Besses o’ th* Barn Band concerts at Driller’s have almost filled, and at H.M. Theatre noxl Wednesday evening a record audience is expected to mark the inauguration of the brief season here of three nights with special matinees. Considerable discussion is taking place locally regarding the decision of the directors of the Besses o’ til’ Barn Band to confine their concerts to the Theatre. Many people are under the impression that this famous com hi nation cannot he heard to such advantage inside a building, and quite forget tho fact that its greatest successes in contests have been achieved in halls. Although a brass baud, the tone produced resembles ,th it of a lingo organ or of a great orchestra, and naturally the effect of manv of the finer and more delicate passages would be quite lost ill the open air. Oil the last night of the two weeks’ engagement the bail;! appeared before 60,000 people at Chi_ casco.. .rThore were scenes of the wildest enthusiasm throughout the whole concert. The programme consisted of about half a dozen items, and so tremodous was the enthusiasm of the wonderful audience that the band were compelled bv sheer necessity of tho cheering of the crowd to give pracically twenty different numbers.
