BESSES 0’ TH' BARN BAND.
A very substantial booking ol reserved' scats took place yesterday at the Theatre, and subsequently at Miller’s, where the box plans are now on view. The greatest possible interest is being manifested in the coming of the .Besses o’ th’ f Barn Band to Gisborne, and the directors will doubtlessly reap the- reward of .heir enterprise by crowded audi■nces attending the briet season _ ol concerts which commence next ’Wednesday evening at 11. M. Theatre. The Gisborne season marks the close of what has proved to be (financially and artistically) the greatest attraction that lias descended upon New Zealand. Already the beneficial effects of the Besses’ visit have been acknowledged by bandsmen and musicians generally, and in the near future the educative elements oi the Besses’ masterly playing must ol necessity bring about that improvement which the late Premier had in mind when he first arranged with Messrs J. and N. Tait for the Besses to appear at the Exhibition. ■ Reserved scats may now be booked at Miller’s for any of the afternoon or evening concerts. The first matinee is to take place next Tliurs-. day afternoon.
