OBJECTION TO REMOVAL. At tlie meeting of the? Cook County Council"* yesterday llio following letter was received from Mr. A. E. Reeves, ToJaga Buy; “J understand your Council passed a resolution in favor of removing toll from Tolaga bridge for two years. I should like to point out that tipis is contrary to the florins of agreement entered into when consent of owners was obtained to become guarantors to the. special bridge loan district, and [ object to the toll being removed. Considerable stress was laid on the point that it was vexatious to petitioners. This could easily he remedied by modifying the charges. f think it ; —vy ■ ( pv —Tiliei fitin 11 to ho dp -in the -nTP,...A- “ ain g sufficient money to nay cost of interest and sinking fund. The toll, if loft on, in r, few years mould aooomulnte enough funds to enable the toll tu be removed without causing inconvenience to anyone, I trust your Council will see that this matter is fairly adjusted.’* Cr. Matthews said the letter had come to hand too late. The Chairman said the writer was evidently in error in stating it was contrary to understanding. The matter was fixed for two years at tlm end of which time the toll might he put on again ; though hi* thought the guarantors would never have been troubled. M hat would he done would orobably he that at the end of two rears the toll could he put on for a, few years and then taken off again: 01- a partial toll could he put on horses and vehicles could he charged for and not foot passengers. The letter was merely received, no action being taken.
