The meeting of King Edward and King Emmanuel at Gaeta was most cordial.. King Emmanuel boarded the Itoyal yacht Victoria and Albert, and the two monarchs embraced repeatedly. LONDON, April 18. The meeting of the Kings of England and Italy is causing an explosion in the German press. Sir H. C. Bannorman is also on the alert. The official view at Berlin is that the meeting need not arouse uneasiness, since Italy realises lior independence is better safeguarded in the Triple Alliance than if she relied wholly •upon the support of and France. ■'

The Chamber of Commerce at Glasrr 0 w has invited the Premiers to visit the city. It was also decided by 62 to 3‘J that commercial union of the Empire would be most readily and advantageously established on a mutual- preferential basis.
