NO-LICENSE SOCIAL.

A very successful social in connection with the No-liccnse League was held last night to meet Rev F. Isitt. tn spite of the weather some 60 attended and an enjoyable and enthusiastic evening was spent. Mr. Isitt spoke on tho financial state of the party. He mentioned inter alia that a Salvation Army officer had collected £2OOO in Wellington for the Army’s home for Children, and pointed out that they would nil rejoice at the liberal support of

such good work, yet the no-li-cejise work was as deserving of support, as it tended to prevent the necessity of such homes. During the evening songs were given by Rev. W. Grant, Mr. J. East, a recitation by Miss Sussex, and a Maori quartette by Te Ran students. Supper was provided by lady members. Rev. Isitt gives a public address to-night in His Majesty’s Theatre .
