HU IA CLUB. Tbo annual meeting of the Huia Football Club was bold at, tbo ATnsonie Hotel on Saturday evening. AD-. AVauebop was voted to the elm i r. The Chairman said that the meeting knew very well wlmt an unsatisfactory season the Club bad Ii ,-l last year, and be voiced the opinion that unless that experience were not. to be repeated this year some action would have to lie taken. To improve matters it was decided that the secretary write to 'he Takitimu team with a view to amalgamation. The opinion was expressed that if this were done the club would bo able to put two g .cl teams in the field.
AD - . ADilone was appointed secra tary pro tern to do this and other necessary business. It was understood that the headquarters of the combined club woe hi be at Te Arai or Patutalii. A country member said that he thought tlio country team would he very willing to have amalgamation. Alessrs. Wnucliop and Abilene were appointed delegates to the. Rugby Union, which meets on Friday next.
It is hoped that the Takitimu meeting may be hold before the Rugby Union meeting, so that s'me arrangement might bo come to to submit to the meeting.
