HOCKEY CLUB.
Tlio Gisborne Ladies’ Hockoy Club held their annual mooting at Holy Trinity schoolroom yostorday afternoon, there lioing present: Misses Golfo (2), Reynolds, Shorratt, Somervell, Wachsman, V. Simson, Sawyer, Osborne, Walters, Mntthows, and otliors. Tho election of officers resulted in the following being chosen: Patrons, tlio Mayor (Mr. Townloy) and Mr. W. Miller; captain, Miss W. Reynolds (re-elected) ; deputy - captain, Miss Matthews; secretary, Miss B. Goffo (re-elected); committee, ■ Misses Simson, J. Golfo and Shorratt.
Regret was expressed that several of tho best players in the club would bo absent until nearly tho end of the season.
It was decided to send a team to Napier in July, there to play the Maroro and Huia teams, and to play the Craven College (of Palmerston North) and Te Kooti teams at llastirgs.
A \ isit is expected during the season from the Kopana (Onehunga) dill), which won the cup last year. Tho first practice match will he played at tho Victoria Domain next, Tuesday at 3 p.m. In future practices will be held every Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
