Dixon, however, followed Smith, and it is alleged, gave him a heavy blow from the rear, knocking him down, and as he was rising on his knees struck him a severe blow, .Smith falling back and striking his head on the kerb. Smith was rendered unconscious and had to be conveyed home in an ambulance. At first it was feared that lie was seriously injured, hut yesterday he was out of danger. Smith’s assailant was arrested and will appear at the Police Court this j morning.:
