MATAWHERO SALES. There was a fair attendance at the Matawliero saleyards yesterday, the market for sheep being oil the whole better than last week, and good lines (especially wethers) selling well. A number' of lines passed found purchasers later on. Messrs. Common, Shelton and Co. and Dalgety and C'o., who bad a yarding of over 4500 slieep, made the following sales:—l6l fat owes 14s Id, 110 store wetliers 32s 9d, 135 fat wethers 15s 9d, 134 black-faced ewes 7s 3d, 115 owes low in condition 3s, 168 owes 0s lOd, 496 ewes 5s 9d, 1000 lambs (mixed sexes) 9s, 213 fat and forward owes 9s 3d, 1240 good wethers passed, 347 woolly lambs 7s 9d, 18 small lambs 3s. Pigsj A small entry sold as follows: One bacon pig £2, 1 fat sow 355, 3 porkers 365, 3 do. 32s 6d, 3 sows 225. Messrs. Williams and Kettle, the Loan and Mercantile Company, and Murray, Roberts and Co. had a yarding of over 6000 sheep, the prices realised being: 42 fat owes 13s, R. Hill; 290 owes ss, Geo.
