HOLY TRINITY CHURCH. At a. meeting of the vestry of the Holy Trinity Church, held last night, it was resolved that in the unanimous opinion of the vestry the time has arrived when a beginning must he made with the construction of a new church and an enlarged Sunday school: —The vestry therefore resolves —

(a) To collect and bank to a church building fund donations promised to 'date as grants in one sum, or as first instalments of grants on deferred payments. (b) To institute an immediate canvass for further subscriptions. (c) To obtain detail plans for a church to seat not less than 8000 persons estimated to cost not more than £OOOO, and not less than £SOOO, to be built of brick with slate roof if practicable. (d) As soon as detail plans are ready of the cast end and transepts of the complete church to call for tenders: —1. For the removal of the preseut east end and transepts intact to form together with the present room an enlarged school room—to serve also as a temporary church during the construction of the new church or portion thereof. 2. For the erection of a now oast end and transepts being part of tile permanent church.

(e) Before acceptance of any tender to have at least £SOO available —inclusive of any saving upon the year’s ordinary inccAne—in cash, and also to have reliable promises for at least £SOO more redeenable within eighteen months, and also some satisfactory arrangement for the loan of a sufficient sum estimated at £ISOO -—to cover the balance of first cost. if) To defer the erection of fence until completion of the work proposed and apply the money instead to the church building fund. Colonel Winter and Captain Ferris were appointed treasurers for the fund.
