ST. PATRICK’S SPORTS.
The annual St. Patrick’s Sports will bo held in tlie Gisborno Park Company’s grounds to-day. and with favorable weather, should be a great success. The programme is as usual a very attractive one, and it is anticipated that the various events will be keenly contested. Messrs. G. F. Henderson and J. Martin last evening concluded the work of laying off the ground to tlie various distances required, and their work has ■-men done in an excellent manner. The energetic secretary, Mr. E. Williams, has all the arrangements well in hand, and as one gentleman put it, “Only fine weather is required to ensure the sports being a great success.” Tlie shops close at noon today to enable those engaged in business to be present at the popular gathering, and tlie train and vehicles will run at convenient hours during the day.
