FOOTBALL.

KAITI-CITY CLUB. The annual meeting of the KaitiCity Football Club was held in tho Royal Hotel last night. Mr. W. Johnston was in the chair. REPORT AND BALANCE SHEET. The balance-sheet showed last year £25 19s iod was available for expenditure, of which £l2 10s was spent in ontertaining tho Scinde footballers on their visit to Gisborne last Easter. The sum of £3 15s lOtl is carried forward, .The annual report records tho thanks of tho club to Ivlessl’2. H, E. Maude (President) and J. Luacs and G. Priestly (Vice-Pre-sidents) for donations towards the club’s funds, and to Messrs, W. Johnston, J. J. Martin, H. E. Martin, and 11. M. Puflett for trophies given for competition. Tho annual meeting would have to decide whether the club would go to Napier this season to moot the Soiiule Club at Easter. Tho seniors and the second fifteen lip.d been |uiniier?-up in their respective competitions last year. The Kaiti-City Club provided seven players in the game last year against Hawke's Bay. Tho winners of the trophies during the year were —Best senior hack, Erekana; junior, Kaipara; best senior forward, C. 0. Hansen; Junior, 0, Winfor. In conelusion our thanks are extended to all ivhohelped the club, and especial- / to Mr. J. J. Martin, the club captain. The chairman said ho thought it advisable to cut down the number of vice-presidents. Otherwise there was nothing to find fault with, and it was pleasing to note that no subscriptions xyerc outstanding. He asked that all members would take that opportunity of thrashing out any matters. He kppw that already a trophy had been promised for the best senior forward, and probably more trophies would be forthcoming. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

Bright, and Rev. Dawson Thomas; club captain, Mr. J. J. Martin (re-elected); captain Ist fifteen, Mr. G. Rowe; secretary and traesurer, Mr J. Wiliock; committee, essrs H. M. Puflett, O. Hansen, W. Hay, Olsen, J. A. Eaton, J. Nicholas, H, Robinson; delegate to Poverty Bay Rugby Union, Messrs 11. E. Maude and J. When nominations ivoro called for secretary and treasurer Mr. J. A. Eaton said lie wold be glad if bo could bo relieved of liis duties for a year. He would be very busy during the yoar. Ho bad boon secretary for fourteen years, and thought bo deserved a rest. Mr. Eaton thought tlio best tiling..to do was to select a fresh sccrotar.v whom lie would help as much as ho could. Tho chairman said that it was recognised that ii there was a bad secretary there would be a. bad club. There was no better secretary, and he would ho very sorry to lose his services. . After the election of Mr. IVillock as secretary and treasurer, a hearty voto of thanks was passed to Mr. Eaton. , TROPHIES. The following gentlemen donated trophies: An anonymous donor, for best senior forward; Mr. H. M. Puflett, best junior back; Mr. J. J. Martin, best senior back; Mr. Weymouth, best junior forward. SCINDE MATCH. It was decided that the annual match with the Scinde Club, Napier, be continued. Tlio committee is to interview members as to who can make the trip. It was decided that to provide funds for the trip a social bo hold, tlie general committee (with power to add to their number) to have charge of tho function. Tho meeting then adjourned.
