At Auckland last week a respectably dressed woman named Catherine Watts petitioned for a divorce from her husband, Herbert Jqlin Watts, on the ground of desertion. The petitioner said she was maried to respondent in 1889, and went to live with him at Mercury Bay. In March, 1893, her husbapd lyept tfl look for work at Tairua, She saw him later, but he left her finally in May of the same year. He promised to send her money, but did not do so, and she subsequently discovered that he had gene to Gisborne. She had not heard of him since, although she had tried to find him. She never gave him any cause to leave her. There was one child of the marriage. Dugald Price, storekeeper, of Mercury Bay, gave evidence as to the disappearance of respondent. A decree nisi was granted, as prayed.
