MATAWHERO STOCK SALES. Tho weekly stock sales took place at the Matawliero saleyards yesterday. There was a good attendance, and selling commenced at 11 o’clock. Sheep: In the sheep department the yarding was a heavy one, about 25,000 coining forward. From the commencement the sale went well, although, occasionally there was a drag. Serviceable ewes were in good demand, most of which sold under the hammer with brisk competition. Two-tooths wore well represented, but only a sprinkling of this class were disposed of under tho hammer, although the bidding for the different lines was fairly spirited at times. Buyers of lambs were plentiful, and all of this class changed owners under tho hammer. The passed lots were dealt with as the sale proceeded, anil at the conclusion of the sale there were only a few sheep unsold.
