An advertisement in this issuo draws attention to tlio special services to be bold in tlie above church on Sunday noxt. At 11 o’clock the Bishop of the Dioeoso of AA’aiapu will preside at the service of Ordination of Priests. Tliero are two candidates lor tlie office, Rev. IT. AI. Wright, assistant minister of Holy Trinity parish, and Rev. AA’. Robinson, minister in charge of tho Tolaga Bay district'. It is expected that ail the clergy in the Povorty Bay district will take part in the service. The A’icar of Gisborne informs, us that tliero lias never before in the history of tlio district been an ordination of a European to tho Priesthood, and that tlio service is ono of the most solemn and beautiful in tho Cliurch of England. The vicar issues a cordial invitation to all parishioners, and also to visitors and townspeople generally to attend tlie ordination service. Ho asks all to note that the ordinary morning prayer will bo said at 10 a.m. The ordination service prayer will begin at 11 o’clock. At 7 o’clock in tlie evening the annual confirmation service will be conducted by the Bishop, the local clergy assisting. The rite of confirmation is also most beautiful and solemn, and never fails to draw great congregations. The A 7 icar, who is presenting a largo number of candidates, specially invites parishioners who have been confirmed in Trinity Church in previous years to attend. The wardens are making careful preparations with regard to seating the congregations, and for the evening (confirmation) service in particular a very large number of extra seats are being provided. Residents in the country are invited to tlio services on Sunday. There is ample accommodation for vehicles and horses in the church yard.
