CORRESPONDENCE.
HARBOR MATTERS
To the Editor of the Cisborno Times. Sir, —If any corroboration is required of my statement that the time in which ships are loaded hero will compare very favorably with other ports, it will be found in the report of the last meeting of the Harbor Board, It was then stated that “We give better facilities for loading flic ships quickly with our present conditions than the Bluff or Wellington,” also that “in Lyttlctou, vessels received 7000 carcases a day, hut hereto, ooo or 12,000 carcases were put through in 24 hours.” As this statement was made by a member who has studied the question and who is also in favor of immediately proceeding with an outer harbor. I presume it may be relied upon..—l am. etc., CHARLES GRAY. [The statement referred to was made by Mr Lysnar, but it is quite erroneous. "Wellington or call ship fifty carcases for the five that could be shipped here in a given time. AA'c cannot answer for the Bluff harbor.—Enf G.T.]
