For some reason (says the Kawliia Settler) which was not explained, all the co-operative works in progress at Kinohaku were suddenly stopped during the last week, some of the men being transferred to Kiritehero. It is generally supposed that now the County Council has decided to raise loans the Government intend 'to foist the responsibility on to' tbe shoulders of our poor,' struggling local body. The explanation is about right too, if past actions are taken as a guide.
