WANDERERS. This match was resumed at the Victoria Domain on Saturday last. Continuing their innings United were only able to make four runs over the century, none of the batsmen getting into the twenties. Requiring 143 runs to win, Wanderers commenced well, fifteen runs appearing for two overs. Übert lifted the first ball of Robinson’s second over into Cato’s hands on the boundary. Sharp and Torkington batted confidently, both taking more risks than the stage of the game warranted. Sharp fell a victim to Cato, who had relieved Sheridan, through attempting to pull a straight ball to square leg, and Torkington succeeding in pulling a straight one from Robinson into square leg’s bands. O’Hara and McColl were the only other batsmen to give any trouble to the fieldsmen, and tho innings closed for 71. Cato put up a fine bowling performance, securing five wickets for nine runs in the first innings, and five for ten in the second innings. United—First innings, 139. Second innings. W.
