Assays made from trial lots from new reef taken at random across tho face, and believed to be fair average samples, have given the remarkable results of fiom £219 to £ll6 per ton at assay I department, Bank of New Zealand, Auckland; whilst parcel of about 56 lbs. similarly taken by Mr. Curtis, mine manager, as fair trial, gave at Reeftou School of Mines at rate of 970 z. 13dwt. per ton, gold being worth about £4 per oz. The mine is equipped with complete plant of 20 stamp battery, driven by Poitou wheels, ample water power, and I valuable extensive water races and I other necessary rights; air comp res-1 sors and pipes; miles of rock tunnels I to reef in 12 levels; and represents I as it stands a cash outlay of over £50,000.
