The U.S.S. Co.’s Haupiri yesterday arrived from the Coast -with about a thousand bales of wool for transhipment to tho Star of Japan. That work being completed, the Haupiri left again last night for Auckland, via Coast bays. The inward passengers were: Miss Ferris, Mrs. Keahu, Messrs. A. T. Ngata, M.H.R., and Lieut.-Colonel Gudgeon. Outwards: Mrs. Hird, Messrs. .Douglas, Pearson and Dunn.

The steamer Putiki is expected this afternoon from Wanganui.

U.S.S.CO’s. MOVEMENTS. Saturday, Jan. 12, Squall leaves Auckland for Tologa, Napier and Gisborne, due here Tuesday. Sunday, Jan. 13, Mokoia arrives from Auckland, and sails for South; last launch, 5 p.m. TELEGRAPHIC SHIPPING. YESTERDAY. Napier: Arrived, 5 a.m., Waikare, from Gisborne. Wellington: Arrived, 5.20 a.m., Riverina, from Sydney. East Cape.—Mokoia passed North at 4.30 p.m.
