This was a splendid race hetwe -n the first three horses, which so hi drew out upon the others, each carving in the lead until the half-distance had been covered. Then Wuimnnri went to the front, and took a lead of several lengths; llauiti then lieil :: thirl, forged into second place, sud tliyugh Waimaori loimded the head with a long lead, she was tiring, and a most exciting finish ensued.
