Il , A three days’ celebration of jubilee < of Nelson College by tlio Old Boys j I Association was commenced to-night i in the now College hall, when the old boys from all parts of the colony 1 Mere present, and telegrams and 1 / p,v r h!os were. . received from various | parts of the world, including old I country universities', wishing success I Three hundred were present, and Dr. j Gibbs, president of the association, I occupied the chair. The speakers in-1 eluded Mr. Hoghen, Inspector-Geii-eri|l of Schools;. Mr.' Joyiif, Registrar of New Zealand University; Mr. 1 Fell, 'Chairman of Governors; Mr. I , Fouler, Principal; and the Hon. K. Minister for Lands. The hit • irHer spoke of the proof afforded b.v old j,oys of the success of the College, whose pupils were found in the learned professions of literature, law, me- , dicine, in agricultural, commercial, and industrial undertakings, while ' some were distinguished in science, his reference being specially made to Professor Rutherford and Dr. Evans. \ The .proceedings were marked by j|. great enthusiasm.
