Dr Laicg was a man of commanding appearance, kindly temperament, and genial manner, and made friends wherever he went, He was originally in business in Gisborne, but resold to enter the medical profession, and by bard etndy, backed up by ability of a high order, ho I passed hia esominations with credit, j qualifying at Edinburgh, whither ho had gone, On returning to the colony ho practised for about three years at Akaroa, Ho returns d to Gisborne, and after practising for about three years went to Devonport, Auckland, and last year entered into partnership with Dr Pnrkes, c-f Auckland. Dector Lsing's cousin, Mr A- F- Kennedy, received a letter from him >. law days ago that he bad bud an assack of poc-umonia through rising too isooo after being laid up with influetzr; on Monday came the news that the doctor's life w&3 despaired of, and at 4 yesterday morning ho was dead. His age was 49. The relatives of . the deceased will have the deep sympathy of a wido circle of Gisborne friends. i
