A visit to tho above firm’s premises in Gladstone Road will convince anyone that their new shop is one of the finest in Gisborne. Messrs Burton and Griffiths have spared no expense iu making their new establishment replete and attractive, aud all its fittings, show cases, etc., are in keeping with a first-class and up-to-date store. An attractive window display calls the attention of tho passor-by, and the goods shown include many new lines, The window is devoted to oxidised copper and brass ware, and many artistic as well as useful articles arc shown, such as coal scuttles, jardinieres, fenders, etc., etc. This oxidised ware is new and exceedingly effective in the house, and covers a wide range of goods, from grate backs to ornamental flower yascs, The other window' is devoted to garden implements, cutlery, rollers, camp furniture etc. The firm intend making a speciality of camp furniture and camp out'fits, such as folding stools, beds, tables etc., all made light and to pack into tho smallest compass. In the centre of the shop stands a leviathan show-case, formerly used in the Auckland Exhibition, which cost for transport alone, a considerable sum. This case is stocked with electro-ware, of which there is a fine assortment to choose from. Every class of tool for the carpenter, builder, sawyer, or gardener is to be found in this well assorted stock, many English and American novelties being exhibited. The sportsman is not negleeted, a fine range of guns, etc., boing shown, whilo luncheon baskets and other paraphernalia for out-of-door comfort meets the eye. Churns, wringers, bedsteads, brush-ware, enamel-ware, aluminium goods, pots, pans, etc., lamps of all kinds, iron meatsafes, paints, bedsteads, brass fenders, etc , etc., in great variety are tastefully arranged for the inspection of customers, On the second floor is a well-lighted show-room in which one can inspect all classes of ranges, grates, stoves, safes, bird-cages, tiles, gauze-doors, fire-screens, fonders, camp furniture, iron ware of all descriptions, Altogether the stock is most complete and varied. The main shop is very lofty and the ceiling is covered in AVunderlieh ware, while the whole of the appointments of tho shop are exceedingly handsome.
