EXCITED WOOL SALES. PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT ) London, Nov 28. At the wool auctions there were excited sales. Prices were fully maintained. PRESS ASSOCIATION Timaru, yesterday. The first wool sale of the season opened here this morning, when the catalogue comprised 6000 bales. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was very spirited. Any wools suitable for the American demand were fully 10 per cent, higher than at the best of the Timaru sales last season. Cattle : There was a good yarding of cattle of mixed classes and qualities. As usual, fat classes sold well, and there appeared to be a better demand for other stock. The prices were : 2 beef bullocks T 6 10s, 6 beef cows £5 10s, 11 cows and calves £2 10s, 13 empty forward cows To, 1 shorthorn bull T 9 2s 6d, 3 beef steers T 4 10s, 1 barren cow £4 ss, 2 Jersey heifers T2 17s and T2 17s 6d, 1 cow and calf T 4, 2 heifers T 4 and T 4 10s, 37 yearlings >27s 6d, 7 young steers LI.
