X'ER PRESS ASSOCIATION 'Wanganui, last night. The seventh annual meeting of the Builders’. Federation was held to-day and finished business in the afternoon. Mr

W. JL Bennett, of Wellington, was selected president, and A. G. Bigncll, Wanganui, ( vice-president. The next conference is to be held in Napier in October next It was resolved that the conference urge tho Government to grand a subsidy which shall give apprentices free education at Technical schools : that the question of cost of copies of the conditions of contract be reviewed ; that a special non-political committee bo set up by -'each branch of the Federation to further tho adoption of the conditions of contract ; that Government bo urged to conserve native timbers ; that Government grant a builder greater security over land on which he is ercctiim a building than the law at present provides ; that no builder should be asked to tender from a blue print: that tho Public Works Department be directed to the unfairness of inviting tenders for works a second time without alterations of plans and specifications ; that copies of the conditions of contract be supplied to practising architects, provided they do not follow the business of builder; that a levy of 3s Gd be made on each member for the on- I auing year.
